News of the Watt: Coming out soon with new updates

The Student Association:

Achievments to date:
  • 10/20 things actioned from Students Reps meeting - some more are being followed up
  • Executive Committee for Student Associations NAC/largs and Finnart/ Waterfront
  • 2 for 1 at waterfront cinema on Thursay
  • Student discounts: Kilwinning Community Sports Centre (Junior rates applied for students) and more businesses posters will be going up soon: When you see the poster you can get your discounts. When we have all businesses to date we will give lists of them
  • News of the Watt
Working towards:
  • Discounts for students from more local businesses: Posters will be up soon.
  • Organising a Christmas Charity Raffel - where many local businesses have donated prizzes, memberships and vouchers.
  • Working towards sports and social events
  • Finnart Children in need three day charity event
  • End of term party: In the next reps meeting we want to here what you would like for the party or club night?
  • Social events within college: increasing social engagment and networking within college
  • Questionaire asking students what sports students would be interested in
  • We are working towards a Respect Campaign relating to the Task Force Committee on conduct and smoking within the college.
  • Hoping to set up football teams and other sports teams that are of interest around the college
  • Student feedback week

  • "Bring back bebo" "Find facebook" for access within college
  • Staggering of breaks
  • Availability of drinking water

  1. Hi Geraldine. I am a class rep at the waterfront campus for the BA Education and Social Services degree. I wondered if you could explain what the 2 for 1 cinema offer at the waterfront complex is as i have never been informed of this. I worry that the minutes from Finnart Street are not cascaded to the Waterfront reps and vice versa which is why i am pleased to see they are now online. Many thanks. Catriona Anderson

  2. Hi Catriona,

    There is posters in the 2 campuses with the 2 for 1 offer at the cinema, this has to be 2 students and must have matric card, the offer is that only one student will pay on a Thursday night, all feedback to the students will be on thw boards and also will be given to the SL at the two colleges to give to the lecturers so they can give this information to the student reps.
